Partner event: Join Canadian Organic Growers (COG) for a field day at the Schill Family Farm in Balcarres, Saskatchewan on August 1st! Our morning will be spent touring the Schill Farm who will be showcasing their regenerative organic practices.

Homesteading Kickstarter

If you are interested in self-sufficiency and want to grow/produce more of your own food this workshop is for you! If want to be more connected to the food you eat and the land this workshop is for you! If you enjoy meeting other like minded people in your community and want to invite more fun, creativity and nature into your life this workshop is for you! Farm experience is not required. In this two day workshop we will cover many topics including: Animal Husbandry, Bee Keeping, Gardening, Making Soap, Sourdough Bread and Butter, Canning and Fermenting, Forging and so much more! Workshops begin at 9am and wrap up around 5:30pm. Suppers both days are included and there will be some evening programming you’re welcome to join in on. The event takes place at Farm One Forty near Vanscoy.

Partner Event: Soil Health Academy

On-farm school, June 25-27, McCord

Join Calvin and Marla Gavelin on their farm in McCord for a 3 day outdoor classroom on different aspects of regenerative farming, soil health, plant health, and animal health. Hands-on experience will be heavily emphasized.

Mentors

Karlah Rudolph

Nitrogen Mentor - SK

Karlah completed a degree in Environmental and Soil Science from the University of Saskatchewan and a Master's of the Environment from the University of Manitoba. After working in agri-environmental extension for many years, she returned to the family farm in Southwestern Saskatchewan full time in 2015, where she currently raises commodity crops and beef cattle with her husband and their young son.
